Hays Formella is a strategic marketer with nine years of experience building and implementing effective strategies across social, web, print, event, and product development for global market leaders. His work emphasizes a mix of narrative-driven and journalistic styles, bringing fresh perspectives to modern marketing by finding the story at the core of a business objective or communication challenge.

He currently leads Social Media Marketing for the Kohler Company Hospitality & Real Estate portfolio of brands. This work includes:

  • Development and execution of paid and organic social media strategies.

  • Collaborating with Strategy and Creative teams to envision and produce best-in-class content.

  • Coordinating an external agency to run and measure paid campaigns.

  • Liaising with travel and golf industry partners on strategic activations.

  • Consulting internal stakeholders on best practices and emerging trends.

Before joining the professional world, Hays attended Indiana University, receiving a B.A. from the School of Journalism and a minor in Business Marketing. During this time he restarted the Indiana University Sailing Club and competitive race team.

His other passions include competitive sailing, film, photography, skiing, cooking, and reading great books.
